Caddo Grove Elementary Coin Drive
MCU teamed up with Caddo Grove Elementary
in Joshua for a coin drive to benefit the National September
11
Memorial & Museum
in New York. A memorial, entitled Reflecting Absence,
which began development in March of 2006, will contain "two
massive pools set within the footprints of the Twin Towers -
with the largest manmade waterfalls in the country cascading
down their sides" (www.national911memorial.org).
MCU matched the dollar amount of coins collected
by the students during their weeklong effort, bringing the total
donation to $1,050. With this donation,
Caddo Grove Elementary and Members Credit Union will
receive
a stepping stone that will be placed on the Memorial Plaza. Along
with the stepping stone, Caddo Grove and MCU will
be acknowledged in the official opening day ceremonial program,
on the National September 11th Memorial & Museum at the World
Trade Center's website, and in the World Trade Center Memorial
kiosk.
Way to go Caddo Grove and MCU!
Dollar Dog Birthday Celebration
Dollar Dog celebrated in style this year at the Cleburne Skating Rink for his 6th birthday! In all about 60 or so kids attended the party and enjoyed skating, games and limbo with Dollar Dog participating in all events. The next upcoming celebration with Dollar Dog will be the Christmas Party so watch for your invitation and be sure to RSVP.
MCU Sponsors Back to School Events
Local Johnson County school employees were
treated to back-to-school breakfast and lunch meetings sponsored
by Members Credit Union in mid-August. Burleson ISD, Cleburne
ISD, Joshua ISD and Rio Vista ISD enjoyed some great food and
received some MCU giveaways for their back to school needs. MCU
was proud to sponsor these events and support these most valuable
members our community and the work that they do teaching our
children to be tomorrow's leaders.
