Dollar Dog – Splash Station Winners
Congratulations to Anna Joely King and Layton Johnson who each won a Season Pass to Cleburne’s Splash Station water park. Dollar Dog members were automatically entered into the random drawing and received an extra entry for each additional $5 deposit they made between April 1st and May 15th. The Dollar Dog Kids Club is open to any child up to 12 years old. The club helps children learn about the fun of saving money. In addition to a new account gift when the account is opened, children are rewarded with paw punches each time they make a deposit of $5 or more. They can then use the punches to "buy" prizes from the prize cabinet located in each branch. Dollar Dog hosts several events and contests throughout the year for club members.
Burleson Honey Tour
 MCU was proud to be the title sponsor for the 10th Annual Burleson Honey Tour Bike Ride on May 24, 2008. There were 620 riders who participated in the event this year. Participants only had the highest praise for the volunteers and the ride itself. Riders covered routes from 9 to 60 miles during the ride in and around the Burleson community. MCU employees volunteered along with other community members to provide water and snacks at various rest stops along the way. Congratulations to Matt Taylor who won this year’s drawing for a 14K diamond pendent donated by Woolard’s Jewelers. And a special thanks to Longoria’s who provided barbeque for the post party. But most of all, MCU would like to say a special thanks to Marilyn Mitchell, our Burleson Branch Manager for all the time and energy she put in, along with the Honey Tour Bike Ride Committee, to plan and host this outstanding event.
Battle of the Bands
Join MCU on Thursday evenings from 7pm-9pm through June 28th at the Hulen Park Pavilion for the 2nd Annual Battle at Buffalo Creek… “a Musical Duel 2008”. This is Country Legends 92.1 FM’s Battle of the Bands talent search to showcase local talent. Bands will compete for weekly prizes and one band will receive a fabulous Grand Prize! So come on out, bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of music in the great outdoors.
